TSF’s work is based on an integrated approach aimed at addressing vulnerabilities whilst promoting sustainable pathways to change. The organisation prioritises community-based approaches centred on capacity-building, active participation and resilience. By linking responses to immediate needs with long-term perspectives, TSF seeks to create conditions conducive to self-reliance, social cohesion and adaptation to social, economic and environmental challenges.
Socio-economic integration and vocational training for young people
The Professional Learning and Support Centre (CAAP in French) has facilitated the socio-economic reintegration of young people affected by conflict, particularly young women who are survivors of sexual violence and internally displaced persons. Using a multidimensional and inclusive approach, it offers vocational training, support for entrepreneurship and income-generating activities, notably in the fields of agro-pastoralism, sewing and renewable energy. By promoting the creation of micro-enterprises, community savings and social cohesion, the CAAP helps to strengthen individual and collective resilience.
Community recovery and long-term resilience
With a view to expanding its development work, TSF delivers humanitarian aid through a ‘nexus’ approach rooted in a long-term vision. Focused on empowerment, resilience and social cohesion, these interventions aim to ensure a seamless transition from emergency assistance to sustainable reconstruction. Each humanitarian initiative is designed to serve as a lever to move beyond immediate relief, strengthen local capacities and lay the foundations for sustainable recovery driven by the communities themselves.
Global citizenship education and environmental commitment
Through initiatives aimed at fostering global citizenship, TSF promotes environmental protection as a means of encouraging community engagement. These initiatives combine awareness-raising, youth engagement, radio programs and tree planting. Community meetings and training sessions under the theme ‘Let’s Cultivate Peace’ strengthen the links between the environment, peace and civic responsibility. The distribution of forest and fruit tree seedlings to households, along with monitoring their growth, helps combat global warming and brings about sustainable improvements to the living environment.
