Development in the Republic of the Congo

For over a decade, TSF has structured its work around an integrated, multi-sectoral approach aimed at strengthening community health systems. Through a constant presence on the ground, a detailed understanding of local issues and active collaboration with key stakeholders, TSF fosters the development of tailored and sustainable solutions. This global approach, focused on prevention, support and capacity building, ensures a real impact on vulnerable populations.

Community engagement and local outreach

TSF has developed a sustainable approach by working closely with community representatives, who serve as vital points of contact in people’s daily lives. Whether they are heads of households, opinion leaders or religious figures, they possess a natural influence that helps people understand and take ownership of health messages. Through tailored training, these community leaders become key players in informing, raising awareness and mobilising households, thereby ensuring a real impact that is both absorbed and driven by the community itself.

Prevention and management of communicable diseases

Over the years, TSF has built up in-depth expertise in HIV/AIDS prevention and care, particularly in settings where young people and women are especially at risk. Its programs have combined awareness-raising, counselling, testing, the distribution of essential supplies and psychosocial support. Through a range of educational campaigns and tailored medical support, TSF has helped to sustainably strengthen prevention practices and access to care for the most vulnerable populations.

Maternal, neonatal and child health

TSF places maternal and child health at the heart of its priorities, providing essential support to pregnant women, mothers and young children. Pregnancy monitoring, safe deliveries and improved prenatal diagnosis have been strengthened through the introduction of an ultrasound machine and staff training. Initiatives focused on prevention, awareness-raising and the fight against malnutrition provide long-term support to thousands of families and contribute to better health prospects for a population where this issue directly affects infant mortality rates.
