Coopération volontaire

Le programme de coopération volontaire en République du Congo vise à accroître les capacités organisationnelles et professionnelles de nos partenaire en santé notamment en :

– Appuyant le renforcement des compétences auprès des professionnels de la santé maternelle et gynécologique via l’envoi de coopérants canadiens ;

– Assurant la formation des sages-femmes en SONUC (Soins Obstétricaux et Néonataux d’Urgence Complet) et SONUB (Soins Obstétricaux et Néonataux de Base) pour améliorer la prise en charge des urgences obstétricales ;

– Accompagnant et faisant le suivi clinique avec les sages-femmes et infirmier.ères ayant des patients en suivi
pré et post natal.

A participatory approach and the exchange of good practices between the local TSF team and volunteers are at the heart of such a mandate.

Reception and registration of beneficiaries for consultations in visual health and dentistry. The most vulnerable people (women, children, the elderly and refugees) are prioritized.

After training received by volunteers, local TSF employees were able to give each registered beneficiary a visual acuity test before their consultation with optometrists.

The auto-refractometer, used in a dark room, is a device that allows you to assess the refraction of the eyes. This upstream step provides important information to optometrists.

Eye exam, eye disease screening and referral by optometrists. A total of 695 consultations were carried out at the Bétou health center.

Each pair of glasses available has been identified and labeled with the prescription by TSF volunteers. During the mandate, the opticians provide the glasses adapted to the needs of the beneficiaries. Sunglasses are also distributed to prevent certain eye diseases.

Thanks to referral, ophthalmology follow-up is offered to beneficiaries with a problem requiring special care.

In the surgery room, the ophthalmologist can operate on the various referred cases, in particular those of pterygiums.

A multidisciplinary approach is often favored during mandates. The refugee population also benefited from dental care provided by a dentist. 79 dental consultations were carried out.
