TSF runs a program in the Republic of the Congo with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), providing health care to approximately 60,000 refugees, mainly from the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as to the host populations.
A team of around 100 people provides frontline healthcare, with an emphasis on reproductive and maternal health, nutrition, and the fight against HIV/AIDS.
These activities currently take place in three regions.
Department of Likouala
Our activities revolve around two hubs: Impfondo, which has a basic hospital, and Bétou, which has an integrated health centre, two health stations, and an intensive nutrition rehabilitation unit for children with moderate to severe malnutrition as well as pregnant and nursing women.
Department of Plateaux
In Bouemba, TSF is responsible for the Centre de santé intégré du Plateau des 15 ans (integrated health centre).
Brazzaville
In Brazzaville, the country’s capital, TSF runs a health and social services centre that provides care to urban refugees.
The objectives of our humanitarian aid program in collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) are to build, improve and maintain shelters and infrastructure, promote peaceful coexistence between local communities, and facilitate the reintegration of Nigerien refugees in the Ménaka region with the construction of traditional dwellings.
