– Almost 100,000 Bolivians are blind, and cataracts are behind almost half of these cases of blindness.
– Preventive consultations with optometrists could eliminate 80% of the visual problems affecting Bolivians.

Specialized training for more effective interventions
The purpose of the project in Bolivia is to increase intervention capabilities in visual and dental health in the La Paz region. To achieve this, Dentistes Sans Frontières and Optométristes Sans Frontières will give specialized training to the staff at health centres. Following a request from local authorities, TSF helped to set up dental and visual health clinics with materials sent by container.

TSF estimates that this five-year project will allow it to reach 139,614 people.
