DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO PROGRAM

Responding to the needs of displaced persons and refugees

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the number of refugees is estimated at over 500,000 and there are 4.5 million internally displaced persons.

Over the years, TSF has carried out many humanitarian aid actions for these people, in collaboration with several UN agencies including the United Nations Refugee Agency (HCR), the World Food Program (WFP) and UNICEF, to ensure their protection, improve access to education, fight against food insecurity or promote peaceful coexistence within the communities that host them.

This has resulted in particular in the construction of shelters, the rehabilitation of school and medical infrastructure, training and support for the creation of income-generating activities and the implementation of a learning strategy at distance for refugee and displaced children in rural areas.
