TSF provide assistance to more than 50,000 refugees, mainly from the Central African Republic, and 12,000 returnees, in collaboration with the UNHCR and the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation.
Several initiatives are undertaken to protect refugees, children in particular, and encourage peaceful cohabitation in the host communities.
In the last few years, shelters were constructed, school and medical infrastructure was rehabilitated, training and guidance were provided for the creation of income-generating activities, and intercultural exchanges between refugees and local populations were organized.
The team is also conducting surveillance of border areas, reporting any incident that could threaten personal safety.
Many awareness campaigns were also ran on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for staff members and beneficiaries.
