Haiti is struggling to get back on its feet following Hurricane Matthew, which struck in the fall of 2016. Nevertheless, through a partnership with Fondation Haïti Partage, TSF has been able to rebuild one of the 11 Paradis des Indiens schools in Abricots that were totally destroyed. Moreover, Sr. Marguerite Aussant’s primary school was recently opened.

The Abricots region is still difficult to reach, as the roads have sustained major damage. Every month, TSF sends a mobile medical clinic of four nurses, who visit the villages of Mornes to provide consultations and medication.

“Reconstruction is very slow. The south of the country is especially affected. All of the infrastructure needs to be rebuilt,” said Catherine L’Anglais, director of TSF’s Haitian office.
