Hurricane Matthew, which recently struck Haiti, impacted several areas where Terre Sans Frontières has working projects.

In Cayes, local school Les mains ouvertes was flooded. Flooding also affected the town of Vialet, but Centre mère-enfant Marcelle and Jean Coutu, two new buildings in the area, held up during the disaster and helped shelter 100 local citizens. In Croix-des-Bouquets, La Maison de l’avenir Jacqueline Lessard was also used to shelter those affected.

In l’Île à Vache, which was hit very hard, TSF was the first organization to arrive on the scene, delivering supplies to local orphanage Saint-François-d’Assise. All TSF projects have received a first round of emergency aid already.

The needs right now are immense and Terre Sans Frontières wishes to continue its essential work.

Thank you for helping us during this difficult time.
