A group of chartered professional accountants motivated by the desire to contribute to the well-being of populations in need outside our borders has just founded  CPA Without Borders (CPA Sans Frontières). This new organization joins the “Without Borders” family of Terre Sans Frontières, an international cooperation organization.

CPA Without Borders aims to offer volunteer professional services in the fields of expertise of CPAs to NGOs and organizations serving the poor, while supporting the development of local skills. Our volunteers will support and assist these NGOs and community organizations within the framework of the latters’ humanitarian missions. Our administrative and accounting support aims to complement local resources while respecting the principle of sustainable development. In fact, the first contingent of CPAs flew to Haiti on May 29th 2013 for a first exploratory mission, which helped to formulate an intervention strategy with partners of Terre Sans Frontières. The organization has the support of the Ordre des CPA du Québec. CPAWB’s mission dovetails with the desire of the Ordre to develop an action plan for sustainable development. “The accounting profession is guided by the values of integrity, excellence, discipline, commitment and openness. Indeed, CPAs are involved in their community and are fully at the service of causes that are dear to them, as evidenced by the creation of this organization”, affirms Daniel McMahon, FCPA, FCA, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ordre. “We are very pleased to collaborate with CPAs, inviting them to join the “Without Borders” projects of Terre Sans Frontières, whereby they volunteer their expertise and support our mission” said Robert Gonneville, CEO of Terre Sans Frontières.
