The political instability that followed the elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in early 2019 forced more than 16,000 people to flee to the neighbouring Republic of the Congo, specifically to the Plateaux Department near the capital, Brazzaville.

TSF, which is already active in the country, sent a doctor and three nurses to assess the health needs of these refugees. An assistance program will be developed in collaboration with the UNHCR and the World Food Programme (WFP).
