Categories: Education, Haiti

Maison de l’Avenir Jacqueline Lessard is a home for underprivileged children in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti.

Founded by Jacqueline Lessard, a woman from the Saguenay region whose appeal after the January 2010 earthquake touched many, Maison de l’Avenir Jacqueline Lessard is currently home to 51 children, and its primary school has 163 students.

Maison de l’Avenir Jacqueline-Lessard has three main buildings: the school, the dormitories, and a building that houses the kitchen, cafeteria and library.

A residence was also built for the Filles de Marie-Reine Immaculée, the religious community that manages Maison de l’Avenir Jacqueline Lessard and the Laferté-Roy school.
